How we will meet the standard

We want to ensure equity of access for all of our patients at Waterloo Health.

We will endavour to meet the NHS England Accessible Information Standard for those on request. We will acheive this by:

  • Ensuring our staff have access to awareness training on communication issues
  • Check any communication needs that patients may require when they are seen and when they register
  • Ensuring we provide the following:
    • On Forms & Information
      • Large format, and where possible alternative language options
    • On our website
      • Large print, and contrast options for visual impariment
      • Language Translation options
      • Links to resources (see below)
    • In face to face communication
      • We will record your communication preferences
      • Availability of a hearing induction loop for those with a T enabled hearing aid
      • Access to interpreters on request including BSL where available
