Our Staff Roles and usual their working patterns

Partners * please note these session times may vary from week to week.

We have 3 Partners at the Practice and their usual working patterns are as follows:

  • Dr George Verghese: Monday (triage), Tuesday, Wednesday (triage) and Thursdays
  • Dr Katy Morris: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (triage) and Fridays
  • Dr Tarek Radwan: Tuesday and Fridays

Salaried GPs

The Partners have employed 5 salaried GPs and their usual working patterns are as follows:

  • Dr Daphne Dhas: Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Fridays 
  • Dr Carlo Filpa: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 
  • Dr Tanya Kant: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Dr Jamie Wallis: Monday and Tuesdays
  • Dr Dorota Kucharczyk: Wednesdays and alternate Fridays 

Nursing Team

Our Nursing Team comprises the following staff and includes an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP).

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses who have completed extra training and academic qualifications to be able to clinically assess, diagnose, refer and treat patients with present with undiagnosed or undifferentiated problems; they undertake complex reviews of patients, similar to GPs.

  • Linda Eyre, Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP): Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays
  • Alison Ewen, Practice Nurse: Tuesday and Wednesdays
  • Debbie O’Connor, Health Care Assistant: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays

Physician Associates (PAs)

The practice benefits from having 2 experienced Physician Associates (PAs). PAs are healthcare professionals who work alongside doctors to provide care to patients. Although they are not doctors, PAs are trained to perform many of the same tasks, working under the supervision of a qualified doctor. The practice has 2 Physician Associates as follows:

  • Jessica Smeaton: Monday and Fridays
  • Mary Nakwejwe: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays

In addition to our medical & Nursing teams the practice also benefits from the following Clinical Roles funded by the Primary Care Network:

Clinical Pharmacists

Clinical Pharmacists work as part of the General Practice team to improve value and outcomes from medicines; they can consult and treat patients directly. This includes extra help to manage long-term conditions, advice for those on multiple medications. The role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and ensuring patient safety. The help with prescribing, medication reviews, treatment of minor illness and ensure patients get the most out of their medications. 

The practice has 2 Clinical Pharmacists and their working times are as follows:

  • Nidhi Patel: Mondays
  • Kwamena Crentsil: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 
  • Mental Health Practitioner
  • This is a qualified practitioner role specialising in mental health disorders. Our Practice based Mental Health Practitioner supports patients with complex mental health needs and acts as a “bridge” between primary care and specialist mental health services. Our Specialist Mental health Practitioner details are as follows:
  • Simone Roberts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays

Social Prescribing Link Worker

Social Prescribing Link Workers support and signpost patients for a range of non- clinical interventions such as housing or financial issues, bereavement, support with claiming benefits, loneliness and isolation, domestic abuse  and emotional wellbeing. They also support patients with long-term conditions by linking them up with local services who provide physical activities and other initiatives to promote lifestyle changes. 

  • Sarah Flynn who works at the practice on Tuesdays. 

First Contact Physiotherapists

First Contact Physiotherapists are usually Physiotherapists with enhanced musculoskeletal assessment skills. They help patients with musculoskeletal issues such as back, neck and joint pain by assessing and diagnosing issues, giving expert advice on how best to manage their conditions or referring them on to specialist services if necessary. By making it easier for patients to access physios, patients have quicker access to diagnosis and treatment. They also can organise tests and referrals to other specialists as needed.

  • Andrea Ravindra:  Tuesdays
  • Sarah Friel: Wednesdays

Dietician

The role of the Dietician in primary care is to assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems. Dieticians play a big part in enabling patients to manage their own health. They provide nutritional screening, advice on food fortification and weight management. 

  • Our Dietician is Ghazala Khan who provides telephone support for our patients on Wednesdays 

Substance Misuse Advisors

Substance Misuse Advisors support patients in primary care and help to provide on-going support to patients with addiction issues to stop or reduce their substance misuse. The service also links up with other community based misuse services.  

  • Our Substance Abuse Advisor is Jason Harper and he works at the practice on alternate Fridays.

Care Coordinators

Care Coordinators provide extra time and capacity to support patients in preparing for clinical conversations or in following up discussions with primary care colleagues and professionals.  They work closely with the GPs and other primary care colleagues within the Primary Care Network to identify and manage a caseload of identified patients, making sure appropriate support is made available to them. The practice has the following Care Coordinators:

All the above roles support our Practice to ensure Patients have access to a full range of services and support.
